Stories of Courage is a collection of monologues based on student narratives from Amir Marvasti’s research on the meaning of courage. All stories have been edited and adapted for the stage for confidentiality. The collection of stories explores what courage means and the diversity of courage.
Courage sometimes means dealing with hardship, grief, and difficult situations. There is a Survivors Circle in this production; naturally, Things Unseen is proud to partner with FSI Victim Services Program who will have someone available to talk to any audience members who need it for each show. Additionally, on Saturday night, Things Unseen will have a talkback with Ashley Gay Vocco and Sherill Gonsman from FSI after the show. Learn about the show process, ask questions, and explore what courage means to you.
During the run of the show, we will also be collecting non-perishable goods to benefit the food drives in our community. Suggestions for donations include:
Pulled tab preferred canned goods
Pasta and Pasta Sauce
Canned Fruits and Vegetables
Canned Meat and Beans
Peanut Butter and Alternatives
Cereal and Oatmeal
Shelf stable milk and Alternatives
Canned soup and stew
Rice and dried grains
Health and Beauty Products (toothpaste, soap, shampoo, period products, etc.)
Cat and dog food
